Your Guardian Angel

This is me singing and playing Your Guardian Angel, originally by The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus. I learnt it recently on my ukulele and decided to share.

Don't judge!

It's one of those songs I listened years back everyday on my way to school. It still gives me goosebumps when I listen to it today. I love how the song slowly builds up from acoustic to full blast of drums and power vocals. A love song with slightly 'emo' lyrics without being overly cheesy (unlike B***o M**s). Cough.

Wish I could play this on guitar instead. Oh well...hope you like anyway!

Waseda Senior High School

I am very lucky to be part of The RA Show as a makeup artist! Filming began at day break. It's been a long time since I last woke up at 5am.

Our first stop was the Esplanade, which looked pretty odd with not a single person around. Well, that's the point. Gradually as the day passed lots of tourists swarmed around and made it frustrating to film. It's really not easy to film anything outdoors in Singapore with the crazy heat.

But overall I had a great time working with all these talented people. Man, 12 hours of hard work produces about 10 minutes of final footage.

Let the pictures do the talking! iPhone photography :)

Next stop: Waseda Shibuya High School

As the production is about connecting cultures of Singapore and Japan, we got the the chance to visit a Japanese school. It was the school's open house for a charity event themed "Our spirits connecting to the world", which aims to raise funds for the Tohoku earthquake in eastern Japan.

The school compound looked exactly the same as those campuses you saw in Japanese cartoon/anime and Hello Kitty playhouse I used to play with during my childhood. Those Japanese students would greet visitors with high pitched voices and I can't help to say "Kawaii"!

Hand painted work
Students decorated the school with hand painted artworks that shouts originality and hard work. I felt like I was literally walking inside of a scrapbook. I can't imagine the amount of time they put into painting and decorating. You know its true when they say Japanese people are extremely creative and unpredictable.

Kawaii to the girl in a Hello Kitty jumpsuit!

A Japanese classroom. Wooden floors and black boards; classic.

Eccentric costumes is a norm for the Japanese
Cosplayers

It was indeed an eye opening experience to soak into the Japanese culture. And that's probably the highlight of the day. For a good 3 hours I felt like I was already in Japan. Hopefully I'll get to travel there one day. Have heard enough stories, I really need to experience Japan for myself!

After a long hard week of work, I'm drained. I have a makeup project tomorrow that I'm excited about, but the reporting time is at an unearthly hour of 6.30am. My life is moving at a pace so fast I can barely catch up with. So drained, but I'm determined to do what I do best. God gives me strength. :)

Wore a bright fuchsia maxi dress today, felt adventurous and paired it with bright orange lipstick. I love lipsticks! They lift my spirit instantly. Pictures by Mandy.

Weekends

Weekends mean so much more ever since I started working... Makes me wonder if adults have a life. I work the '9 to 5' job like any other OL, and I'm still striving to achieve a good work-life balance. It's so hard, when I have so many things I want to pick up such as sewing, improving on my uke, DIY my accessories.

But then, my work life makes me appreciate my weekends so much more. I go all out for good, clean, guilt-free fun with my friends after a week of hard work. I am blessed to have the same group of friends who has been and will be there for me through good and bad.

FOTD - sticking to neutrals
I'm back to my 'made up face' on weekends. I make a point to dress up and do switch my makeup a bit at least twice a week.

Michael, before going botak for army!

Check out those lashes, 100% real.

Virgin experience at Cold Stone! Gosh I must be really slow to not try those goodies earlier in my life.

Ordered Berry Berry Berry Good and yes, it is as awesome as its name suggests! So creamy, with fresh berries to tone down the sweetness and moist waffle to go with. Definitely going back for more.
