New2U Thrift Shop

My love for thrift stores grew over time because I love the feeling of buying something unexpected at extremely low prices. I have covered various posts on shopping at Salvation Army, today I want to introduce you guys somewhere new where you can explore for yourself.

New2U Thrift Shop is an extension of the Singapore Council of Women Organisations. Located along 96 Waterloo Street (nearest MRT: Bras Basah), the store is run by volunteers, offering pre-loved goods and all proceeds will contribute towards SWO's various initiatives.

I was very impressed with what's offered on racks. In fact, I ended up picking more things than I had expected! It really doesn't hurt my wallet when most clothes are priced between $2 to $6. There's a fitting room within the store, definitely essential when it comes to vintage clothes.

On top of the already low prices, I love how New2U offers additional promotions:
(Visit their website for full list of promos)

Everyday Promotion:
1. T-shirt Monday
2. Every Tuesday is Student 1/2 price day
3. Skirt/Men trousers Wednesday
4. Shoes Thursday
5. Surprises Friday

So what did I pick out?

One of the many things I purchased was this mod dress that costs only $6. Seems to belong in the 60s' based on cutting and stitchings. Think: Twiggy. I also believe it's tailor made because there were no labels except for one which instructs to 'dry clean only'. I love how the dense material weighs on my body!

You can see it a lot clearer here that it's pale yellow! Lovely!

Nude leather pumps - Zara | Socks - Daiso
I really enjoyed my shopping experience there and urge you guys to go too! I hope no one's skeptical about purchasing preloved things. If you are interested, drop by Monday to Fridays, 10.30am - 2.30pm. Anyone had already gone there? I would love to hear your experiences!

Cosmic Love

You know the feeling of how certain songs can inspire you so much? If I could translate my emotions into a tune, I think it will be this one by Florence + The Machine. I only recently discovered this amazing band and since then, I have been listening to Lungs and Ceremonials on REPEAT. Day and night, at home and on the go. Really puts me to shame of why haven't I heard of them earlier?

Florence Welch might just be my lastest girl muse. From her head-to-toe vintage assembles to mini skirts that flaunt her milky white legs, I am officially obsessed.

Blush

Liselle Flan Dress - Dressabelle | Leather jacket - Taiwan | Scarf - H&M | Suede boots - Topshop

Cross necklace - Forever 21 | Skull beads - Beadstreet | Spikes - m)Phosis | Rings from Shanghai

You'd rarely catch me in a pink dress...but (self-made) rules are often meant to be broken. The dress is also available in navy, black and taupe but I decided to step out of my comfort zone. How could I resist a combination of girly pink with leather and grunge? The result is pretty yet edgy. Not your average girl in pink. I love the mesh details at the sides of the waist and cut outs at the shoulders! Finish off with baby pink cheeks and lips :)

Chic Steals at Reebonz

Advertorial

I’m sure most of you know the feeling of inferiority of walking into high-end boutiques at Orchard Road because you “look like you cannot afford”. Recently, my friends and I walked into a boutique and out of curiosity, turned labels of almost everything to see its price. “What? How can this card holder cost $800?!” My eyes rolled in disbelief as I browsed. Not surprising that a salesperson hawked on me as if I’m about to steal something.

I think that is one of the many reasons why more people are switching to purchasing branded goods online because you can browse freely! And then check out rationally, hopefully.

It was only recently that I discovered the many models/variations of a Balenciaga. (I’m damn slow) Of course, through Reebonz.

The website needs no introduction. But for those who still wonder, basically it is an online platform that offers luxury brands at discounts through private sales. The sales events are held for short periods of time and are open to members only.

Reebonz is currently holding a Chic Steals Event until 31st August – where products are up to 70% off!!

Remember to enter RR50 for additional $50 off ANY PURCHASE inside the Chic Steals Event before checkout! Shipping is already free within Singapore.

I hear you ladies cheering! Well, am I intending to get anything? Nope, at least for now. You guys know me; I’m not into high-end bags…yet. I must admit the Burberry ones are tempting though.

Hope you’d find something you like! :)

Sweater - City Plaza | Leather circle skirt - Forever 21 | Bag - Shanghai | Leather booties - Esprit

Achievement of the week: I started jogging again! I have been a total couch potato for the longest time, it's good to be active again. It might not seem obvious, but I love fastfood, napping straight after meals and milk tea. Running not only makes me feel more energetic, I am hoping the outdoors will improve my eyesight too.

Weeks ago, I post a picture in my Instagram announcing there was a mega shoe sale at the Esprit outlet store (IMM). And here's the booties I got for only $34.90! Purchasing at this price for full leather finish - SCORE! Every girl needs a staple pair of boots! And having them in metallic silver colour is definitely an unique addition to my collection.

Awesome photography by JJ

Oh c'mon, don't judge me on such a cliche title? But if I actually got to visit Paris one day I'd be wearing something something like this. I shall take pictures with the Eiffel Tower, have a small coffee and visit an art museum, walk a poodle...

*daydreaming*

Why is is that a painter hat makes anyone look like an artist instantly? Why are artists associated with hats like this? Was it because they weren't able to afford anything else in the past? Hmm. Regardless, I'm loving mine for now :)
