I'm feeling extremely playful today in car prints and denim. It's even more fun when you have random cadillac cars on you. The iconic Prada S/S12 print is super funky and retro to wear, I believe the entire collection was inspired by automotive; remember those flaming heel sandals? It wasn't long before the camera died on me when we were shooting. But thankfully, within the short 10 minutes, we still got some great shots!

Necklace from Bangkok

When I run out of options to wear, I find one of the easiest, fool-proof methods is to pick a single colour palette and sticking to it head-to-toe.. Sometimes, finding unity among uncoordinated pieces can be more visually pleasing than a perfect match. So today I decided to stick a colour palette of neutrals - made up of creams, greys, nudes and a touch of gold just to compliment. As usual, I love mixing and matching textures. The stand out piece would be my silver metallic shorts which looks scratchy but in fact, quite the contrary. If you notice closely, it's made up of tiny silver flakes that act as tiny mirrors, bouncing plenty of light. Love it! Thank you Amanda for sending that to me!

I am super excited to share with you this fashion editorial which I was featured in. It's the HYPE Magazine Feb 13' issue. During December last year, I was asked to model for some clothes by local designers, in the theme of 'Neon Takes Flight'. Some of the labels I was so lucky to wear included Mash Up and Feist Heist! Those are brands that I personally really like. Disclaimer: I do not consider myself a 'Model', I was merely asked to model for this issue. And of course, I gladly agreed and here's the end results!

It's always a surreal feeling to see myself in print, in my hands, for once not on a computer screen. Being a kiasu Singaporean, I asked my friend Sheryl to grab five copies for me (thank you!), fearing I could not find them on racks anymore haha! We shot in an old abandoned area which was infested with mosquitos, bad idea to not have mosquito repellent with me. Besides having to constantly fight with the humid weather which was the number one cause of melting makeup, the team also suffered countless bites from blood hungry mosquitos. Thank God we made it out alive!

I would like to take this moment to appreciate Cory and Nicol for making the models - me and Nicholas look super stylish, Flix for getting the shots, Michelle for hair and makeup which I absolutely love, and everyone who was present during that day, getting us food, chasing mosquitos away and making sure we got the shots in time. The shoot would not have been possible without all of you!

Lastly, I'd like to appreciate all of you who have given me compliments and praise on this feature! Thank you so much! It really makes my day when someone tells me they enjoy my work. If you would like to grab a hard copy of this magazine (it's free!), be sure to check out these common locations:

Houndstooth Cardigan - c/o Dressabelle

Surprise surprise! My hair had gone even shorter than before. They say the addiction starts from the moment you 'let go' of your hair, and I can't help to agree. I feel like a haircut is more than appearance change; it is a whole attitude turn-around. I feel even more confident and stylish than before. Time to get hair wax and ditch overly girly dresses that make me look odd. I admit, I do feel very boyish at times but mascara and lipstick always help. Can't believe I kept long, boring hair for seven years!

I am really sorry if you're thinking, "what? ANOTHER outfit post with houndstooth?" Okay okay, I'll understand if you are getting sick of this infectious (and overly worn) print. But I can't help it! I find houndstooth an extremely versatile print which is at the same time a statement maker. I just love it. And since this print is usually black and white, it looks awesome with a pop of red.

Necklace - c/o  O'ORO

With my short hair, I have all the reasons in the world to wear statement necklaces! This one was sent to me by O'ORO (I have featured them on my blog before), adding just the right amount of glam. The turquoise beads are refreshing and tropical. I am all about details and having fun dressing up!

Chambray & Leather

 photo IMG_8994-2_zpsd1d65a31.jpg

As most of you know already, I have unofficially graduated from Poly! While I might just be one of the few people who is not going to work a 9-5 office job, I am sure many of my friends are right now. Often, my friends ask me for on where to purchase good quality, affordable formal wear for the office. In my opinion, a few basics (blazer, pencil skirt, pointy pumps) are essential but you really don't have to buy a whole new wardrobe for a short 6 months temporary contract job. Why not dig into your existing wardrobe to find pieces that will work in the office and still show a little personality?

Work Bag - c/o Dressabelle

Besides leather and chiffon, pairing leather with a blue chambray shirt comes pretty close as my second favouite combination. Chambray is light weight and easy for the eyes, being an alternative for formal shirts if you happen to work in a less attire strict environment. A carry-all work tote is really essential too! To store your iPad, makeup, documents and umbrella for the rainy day. Those who commute via public transport will know the importance of a durable bag that will resist scratches when shuffling in a sardine-packed cabin.

I have to admit that I am lazy. I constantly buy accessories but many times I cannot be bothered to put them on. But today I decided to keep my clothes simple and accessorize tastefully. I love how the pattern of the skirt varies in proportion yet aligns neatly in grid form, I also love the magnified effect of my necklace. Details always attract the curious eye! If you want others to view your ensemble like a painting, the best way is to get them hooked with your accessories. If you are as lazy as me, at the very least, wear a watch. Functionality meets style.

M.A.C. Lip And Cheek Colour in Evening Stroll

It's all about flowers, pastel colours and a whimsical mood for my ensemble today. As if it's not obvious enough that purple is my favourite colour...I picked up an orchid colour multi-purpose product from MAC. Using the same colour on both cheeks and lips is a good ol' rule of thumb which you can never go wrong with. I like dabbing the product using my fingers, the lingering vanilla scent from the product is really nice too! We all know how awesome MAC lipsticks smell right? :-)
