The harsh mid-noon lighting may be a nightmare to most photographers but we decided to make the most out of what we had by playing with shadows. They say "Life threw me some lemons so I made some lemonade!" – one of my favourite quotes to go by a shitty day.

The idea of peek-a-boo has always existed for fashion, evident in common items like the peep toe shoes and cut out backs. Leave the rest to your imagination. Working around that idea, I chose a classic midi dress which has an unexpected mesh detail round my knees. I thought it was fun to inject peek-a-boo elements into my bag and shoes as well. Yes...I admit that I'm not quite over lucite things. I think they're so modern and attracts a curious eye.

Topshop's Aurora

I'm constantly looking for small doses of happiness to get me through hectic work weeks. And by happiness, a beauty addict refers to nail polishes and lipsticks. Mmm hmm...we're all guilty of that, don't lie. It's my first time purchasing Topshop nail polishes and pretty satisfied so far. The 'Aurora' one was what caught my eye and probably the strangest nail color I own to date. It has a copper base with hints of blue and green, reflects beautifully under natural sunlight. But then again I'd very much prefer to call it 'that oil slick color', just cause it makes more sense right? The consistency is watery while still pigmented; exactly what I like. Overall, I'm really loving it on my nails or simply admiring how pretty it looks sitting on my desk.

I rarely go all white for practical reasons but when that happens, I usually prefer greys and silvers. It's nice to divert away from busy patterns (which I'm highly guilty for) once in awhile. I love metallics because they add spark and texture to an otherwise flat surface. They create a sense of opulence with minimal effort. My lazy day uniform normally consists of an oversized sweater for comfort and bold lip colour if I bother to. It's no surprise why women love lipsticks because they make the most statement with least effort as compared to say a smokey eye. Anyway, I love the swirly graphic prints on the blouse, they remind me of organic forms like the rings in the tree trunk and even paddy fields. Not sure why I've been into earthy things recently. Oh and of course, today's chrome look would not be complete without these beautiful loafers that were lovingly gifted to me. New shoes make everything better! <3

Not sure if you have noticed already but I cut my hair yesterday! I absolutely enjoy having a pixie but decided to do something different this time round. Let me know how you like it, or do you prefer the previous style?

The Field Of Fallen Leaves

Not far away from my work place lies an open (at the same time hidden) field that has one of the most serene landscapes in the city. Well kept greenery aren't aways the most charming. To me, dried leaves and fallen branches are perfect the way they are. We chanced upon it randomly and have kept going back to it since. This photo set is one of my favourites ever and I hope you'd enjoy seeing it as much as I do.

Most women (I find) choose clothes based on their ability to flatter. For instance, my petite friends rarely pick maxi dresses and curvy girls avoid loose fitting clothes. That is totally fine because clothes were supposed to complement your body shape in the first place. White that is absolutely valid, I feel that great design can also help achieve silhouettes your body can't achieve on its own. I don't mean ill-fitting; when done right, exaggerated volume can actually inject an unreal effect into your look. Like what I did here, pleats on pleats is not a conventional way of pairing but it still works with the right accessories.

Burgundy brogues - c/o Charles & Keith

I really think Burgundy is the color that defines Autumn, doesn't it remind you of maple trees and sunsets? To keep my outfit relaxed, I decided to go with some menswear inspired brogues. Besides with all the errands I have to run as a student, flats are essential.

Tapestry bag - Charles & Keith

I can't even describe to you how much I love tapestry. People who dislike tapestry would describe them as granny style, but to me they're just Fall's version of floral prints! They have so much texture and I am immensely in love with the beautiful muted colours in this bag. Charles & Keith is my faovurite local brand and they have impressed me once again.

ps. I don't recommend anyone to lie on semi-wet mud unless you enjoy removing stains.
pps. Didn't realized how much the tapestry camouflaged with the field.

Slowing drifting into the mood for fall...beginning with a classic black maxi dress. I haven't seen togas around for awhile, where have they gone? As much as I love halter necks and cold shoulders, togas are too great options to show off the collar bones. The heavy statement cuffs balanced out the elegance of this floor-sweeping dress, almost acting as armors that reminded me of ancient roman warriors.
